Welcome to Autism NI our ethos
"Autism NI seeks to ensure that people within the Autistic Spectrum and their carers have access to appropriate services, enabling people with Autism to be valued members of their community

Our membership encompasses parents, professionals, and people on the Autistic Spectrum. We aim to be a dynamic and fluid organisation. We train, we facilitate, and we are advocates and lobbyists. We innovate in response to changing times of increased diagnosis, forging links between, and advising service providers. Where there is innovation for Autism in Northern Ireland, behind the scenes you will always find Autism NI.

From our central office we provide perhaps a comprehensive book, information and video resource centre.

Autism NI has had the pleasure of accommodating some of the most famous speakers on Autism in the world. To mention just a few of the famous speakers we have welcomed to Northern Ireland in our short history:

  • Temple Grandin
  • Tony Attwood
  • Carol Gray
  • Rita Jordan
  • Michael Powers
  • Linda Hodgdon

Autism NI is built and continues to grow on our solid foundations of those who know Autism best. The Parents who nurture and provide for their children with Autism , the professionals who guide, teach and research into Autism, and the individual who has the most intimate relationship with Autism, the person with Autism. We believe these solid foundations keep us focused, keep us informed, and keep us innovating.

"Autism NI is a parent led partnership organisation having been formed to promote positive collaboration between parents, professionals and individuals with Autism to address the need for appropriate services.

This partnership ethos extends to the charities promotion of a multi disciplinary, cross agency response to issues such as assessment, diagnosis and early intervention.

The charity's mission to support parents and individuals with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder is core to its work and is based on individualised assessed need.

The charity is committed to promoting best practice, accessible to all irrespective of family circumstances."
