Geraldine McGaughey
I qualified from University of Ulster (Magee College) in July 1995 with a BSc Honours Social Work, Certificate Qualification in Social Work.
My work experience to date has covered the following areas.
Fostering & Adoption, Family’s child care, Residential child care,
Hospital Social Work and older programme of care. I took up my current specialist Autistic Spectrum Disorder Social Work post in October 2004.
I have developed – a specialist Comprehensive Assessment Tool, provided specialist advice & support to families & individuals, feed into the community diagnostic team, work towards ASD Awareness within society & other professionals and have established a resource library for parents, individuals & professionals.
I am actively involved with the local Autism NI Support Group for the past 3 years. I want to move services forward in relation to Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
There is such a great need! This is why I serve on the Board of Directors of the society.
