How can I get involved in fundraising for Autism NI?

There are many ways you can get involved in fundraising for Autism NI. For example, you could take part in one of our exciting challenges such as a sponsored walk, overseas trek or even an abseil. There are many activities each year you can get involved in. You could also design your open challenge and we will be only too happy to support you with fundraising materials, advice and PR. If you would rather support us in a less strenuous way, you could become a collection box coordinator or an ambassador for Autism within your workplace. Where is the money spent that is raised for Autism NI?

All monies raised through fundraising is spent within Northern Ireland for Autism NI's vital services. These services include a family support service, advocacy, training and educational courses, an advice line, lobbying and a branch support network. Fundraising is a crucial part of our income and is vital to the survival of the Charity.

What will I get in an Autism NI fundraising pack?

A fundraising pack will contain any PR materials needed e.g. posters/balloons/banners. Each fundraiser will also receive a t-shirt, tailored sponsor forms and collection buckets. The fundraising team is always on hand to give advice and support throughout the process. What is the deadline to hand in money I have fundraised for Autism NI?

The deadline to hand over fundraising monies is within one month of the event completion. Monies can be delivered in cash, cheque, just giving or postal order. All cheques should be made payable to Autism NI, Donard House, Knockbracken Healthcare Park, Saintfield Road, Belfast, BT8 8BH.

How can I volunteer for Autism NI?

There are many ways you can volunteer. You can either dip in and out by supporting various fundarising initiatives or you can be an Autism Ambassador by becoming a regular volunteer. Either way, there are many ways in which you can lend a hand and we will working with you to find the right arrangement that suits you. How do companies/organisations adopt Autism NI as Charity of the Year?

If you would like to adopt Autism NI as your Charity of the Year please contact our Fundraising Manager on 02890401729 (Option 3). There are lots of ways companies and organisations can support Autism NI and we can provide you with fundraising ideas/publicity and Autism merchandise to assist you with your fundraising within your organisaion.

What is Gift Aid and how could it help with fundraising?

Gift Aid is a way for Autism NI to increase the value of monetary gifts from UK taxpayers by claiming back the basic rate tax paid by the donor on the donation. It can increase the value of donations by a quarter at no extra cost to the donor. You can download a Gift Aid form here or request one from Rachel by e-mailing

How can I make a donation in lieu of wedding favours?

Making a donation in lieu of wedding favours is a great way to raise awareness for Autism on your big day. You can either donate a set amount and Autism NI will provide a table card awknowledging your generous donation or pay £2 per individual wedding favour for each guest and this will include an Autism Awareness Ribbon pin. I would like to leave a legacy to Autism NI, how can I do this?

We know that your first priority when making a will is to provide for your loved ones, but many people find that even after they've done this they can leave something to a cause they hold dear. Leaving Autism NI a gift in your will is one of the most valuable and lasting ways you can support us. It costs nothing during your lifetime but will have a powerful impact on years to come. How can my local school get involved in fundraising for Autism NI?

Autism NI are currently asking primary schools across Northern Ireland to join our BIGGEST 'Autism Awareness School Campaign' by participating in 'Rainbow Bounce'. Several schools have adopted Autism NI as the charity they wish to support and in addition to their fundraising, many of the schools have used classroom time to learn more about Autism and deepen their understanding of children and adults who are on the Autism spectrum.

How can I make a donation to Autism NI?

There are many ways in which you can make a donation to Autism NI; through carrying out your own fundraising event, buying Autism Awareness Merchandise, taking part in our treks and fundraising activities, or if you are a UK tax payer, you can join our Payroll Giving scheme by donating small amounts of your salary on a weekly/monthly basis. What is Payroll Giving?

Payroll Giving allows you if you are a UK tax payer to give to a charity of your choice on a tax free basis. Payroll Giving donations are reduced before tax so each £1.00 you give, this will cost you 80p or if you are a higher tax payer, it will cost you 60p.
