The All Party Assembly Group on Autism (APAGA) was formed in January 2008 following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Autism between US Congress and the Northern Ireland Assembly.
APAGA meets on a 6 weekly basis to focus on the agreed Terms of Reference and take evidence from relevant individual groups and agencies such as Orchardville Society, Autism Initiatives, National Autistic Society, NICCY, Stephen Shore and Wendy Lawson.
APAGA has commissioned research from the Northern Ireland Assembly Research and Library Service in line with APAGA Terms of Reference. The Research Paper “Improving Services for People with ASD” (September 2008) was directly linked to taking evidence to progress APAGA Terms of Reference.
