The Autism Societies of Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland celebrate the formation of the Celtic Nations Autism Partnership (CNAP) to push for national Autism strategies underpinned by Legislation across these islands and to exchange best practice. The Welsh Assembly Launch of CNAP also marked the Launch of the Wales ASD National Strategy. In April 2008, the Welsh Assembly announced a first year budget of £2 million to implement the Wales National Strategy and appointed the CEO of Autism Cymru (Hugh Morgan) to oversee the period of critical implementation.
