 Coronavirus

The recent covid-19 pandemic can be very anxious for autistic individuals and their families. There has been a lot of change happening to daily routines since the start of the pandemic ad this can be very challenging.

Autism NI is here to support the autism community throughout this difficult time. We have developed a range of resources that autistic individuals and their families can use.

How to take the Covid-19 Test

Due to the increase in the spread of the virus among the population, more adults and children are being sent to Coronavirus testing sites to carry out the Coronavirus test themselves. We have created a visual resource to help explain the steps that are required to administer the test. This resource aims to prepare any adult or child with autism as to what to expect when taking the test.

SEEING MY FAMILY WEAR A FACE COVERING OR MASK

It is not mandatory for people to wear face coverings or masks when in public, although some people still wear them as this is now a choice. We have developed a resource to help explain the wearing of masks.
